Lyung Sketchesby ~DSil

Some earlier sketches playing around with designs for Lyungs, a race of creatures I came up with. Many of them are shitty doodles... just a heads up.

I wasn't quite sure what category to put this in. Are "Conceptual illustrations" equivalent to "Concept art," or are they representative imagery of abstract concepts?

both actually. creature wise i like how u pulled the mouth forward more. it makes the head seem more surreal. it also gives it less of an alligator head look that the older one had. i also think the ones with shorter ears match the body more than the ones with slightly longer ears. (like the older versions) it gives them a more distinct look in my opinion. the colored one reminds me of that creature from titan a.e. if you have ever seen it (if not watch it!) i think i like the teeth n the older versions. these have almost perfect straight teeth, and i doubt they would have a dentist! haha...but this is a really f'n sweet creature in my opinion. i hope thats not too much over annalyzing? technique wise i like the coloring on these the best. the way you choose to draw them gives them a more natural feel. like i can see the textrue on them. i picture them with a rough over lapping skin almost like a rhino, but slightly shinnier. (is shinnier a word? haha) well, i hope this hasnt' bored u or pissed u off!
